Warchild Annual Report
A large non-profit’Äôs Canadian brnach based in Toronto, the annual report is used as a fundraising tool when approaching large corporations and financial institutions.
The organization raises funds to donate directly to medicine, training and food to children of war-torn countries, all with no middle layers of bureaucracy’Äìthe founders are doctors who work in the field. Funds and profile are raised from concerts held by musicians, some of whom were asked to go to countries affected by wars, and record their experiences.
All the photography comes from people in the field, and I was asked to treat it in a way that was ’Äòrock & roll’Äô but could still hold up in a the office of a bank’Äòs CEO. Keeping the type straight in the spreads and financials, a good balance was met. Note the attention paid to the rag and simplicity of the hierarchies. Crash numbering for page numbers and a warm uncoaed stock helped offset the even professionalism of the grid and the body copy set in Meta.
